im looking at a scorpio which i might buy , it hasnt got central locking , but the fella has bought a fob and said that it can be programmed to work on the car , is this possible ??? even if the car didnt come with r/locking originally ??

I thought all scorpio's had central locking, but if it hasn't i very much doubt that a fob can be programmed for it....... If it can be programmed ask him to do it for you before you buy. Cause if he's trying to pull the wool over your eye's over the remote what else isn't he telling you about the car........

sorry , my mistake , of course its got central locking , what i meant was it didnt originally come with remote locking , so can a fob be programmed ?

Rich.
Make sure there are two new batteries in the fob the right way up,turn the ignition lock to position 1 three or four times till you hear the bong,then press the unlock button once,you should then hear another bong for code acceptance.Fobs sometimes need taking apart and cleaning with meths as the contacts get dirty.In the worst cases the conductive surface wears off the back of the rubber pad.
