hi all my 2.5 td starts fine but driver down the road it looses power than all of a sudden takes off it only happens when accelarating up to speed am thinking either fuel filter or a blocked cat am i on the right track

Had a similar problem with mine last year, pulling away & accelerating, power would just drop off,
then once revs had managed to pick up, it would take off.

Turned out to be the injector pump.

Brand new pump is £1,000. I got a second hand one for £125 & it cost me about £115 to have it fitted.

Worth trying the filters first though if they haven't been changed for a while.

You running it on diesel Will?

A lot of Scorpios are still running on their original fuel filters ;)

Is the turbo working ok? any smoke?

yes i am running it on diesel turbo seems fine the car seems to lose power and when car takes off it beltches out black smoke which than clears when car is up to speed only seems to struggle when worked ie hills or getting to cruising speed runs fine at 70 mph thanks will
