my tape deck on scorpio just seems to switch the tape from one side to another every second and wont play, ive tried different tapes in it, a tape head cleaner, help

Anybody still using tapes? The last tape recorder I had though was in an Audi TT...

To me all the advances in audio technology are not necessary and are nothing short of a racket,one of my pals still insisted on his 8 track,unfortunately he is recently deceased !!
Can't see why I should buy CDs when I have hundreds of cassette tapes to suit my preferred tastes.

i have about 150 cds and 500 tapes, thing is the tapes have rare music i cant find on cd, the ford head unit gives good sound with the cd multichanger

IIRC it changes sides when the tape stops moving. So suggests, er, tape isn't moving ;D

Inside there's a little spindle and a rubber pinch roller that pulls the tape through, either spindle is slipping or motor not running, something like that
