Title: No Sidelights
Post by lesterlad on Apr 28th, 2010, 6:08pm
Noticed last night my side lights on the passenger side and the number plate lights weren't working, checked fuse #2 and it was blown, put a new one in and they were back to normal, however 5 secs later when I plugged in the trailer socket the side lights on both sides went out, unplugged trailer, checked both fuses #2 and #12 and both were ok but side lights still wouldn't come on
All other lights, parking, dipped/full beam, brake, fog are working.
Does anyone know if there is a relay just for the side lights and where it's situated ?

Just been checking the trailer socket, no bad connections/clean inside and trailer is not connected

Bulbs are ok as they work when switch is turned to the left for parking lights

Edit: 1
Forgot to mention the "bong bong" sound isn't working either when light switch is set to sidelights. (or any lights for that matter)

Edit: 2
Other lights not working, Dash, Radio (but display is ok)
Heater control panel lights are working

Have you recently removed the connector to the main-drivers side- fusebox?. If so you haven't got it back on correctly.

No, not touched the connector, only things that has had my fingers on were the two fuses 2 and 12.
To dark now to do anything plus late night finish tomorrow so it will have to wait for Friday and the weekend.

Thank goodness for the light mornings / nights, at least I can still use it, daylight permitting.

No not looked at that yet, It will be Friday afternoon now before I can get round to checking it.

Does the surround just pull out to remove the switch, or is it a dash off job ?

A small bladed screwdriver, on the underside of the switch knob is a lug, press this lug with the screwdriver and pull off the knob, gently prise off the cover with the screwdriver, ( you can protect the dash with a piece of cloth under the screwdriver if you wish ) Then you will see 2 lugs top and bottom of the switch, press these in and the switch body will come out, disconect the multiplug and look at the pins. Each pin is numbered. the most likley culprit is normally pin 15. Also check the multi plug.........
