Title: Heated front windscreen
Post by tonyboy on Oct 26th, 2010, 8:53pm
Hello. Tried the heated front windscreen the other frosty morning, and only part of the windscreen  de-frosted, about 4" of the screen in the middle. Also are there 2 relays for the heated front windscreen, i know there's one's in the battery fuse box but not sure where the other one is.
Cheers
Tony

It's one relay feeding both fuses.

Not sure how "hot" the windscreen is supposed to get TBH, I usually use hot air as well. Well, once you can get some hot air. ;D Then there's gallons of melted water to mop up (OK I exaggerate)

Think the electric windscreen heater is mostly to prevent fogging up on the inside, like speshly this time of year, park it in shadow for a bit, come back it's all misted up. It's a large area and seems quite prone to that.

I think the inside surface is actually plastic not glass! With zillions of tiny wires in it. OK I exaggerate maybe dozens. May need a magnifying glass to see them. Maybe some of your wires have given up the ghost?
