Title: New 24v cossie Post by michaelelise on Jan 30th, 2011, 1:59pm Hi all I have just brought another 24v cossie with lpg. It needs to be MOTed so it is at the garage now. The thing is it is very stiff to go from park to drive. Everyone of my other cossie 24v i have owned have moved from park to drive easily. The car changes up and down the box OK and does not blow out any smoke at all. I have not checked the oil level yet. Has anyone come across this or have any ideas. Kind Regards Michael |

Title: Re: New 24v cossie Post by gozz on Jan 30th, 2011, 2:46pm Yes that's right Mike, there is a small shaft bolted to the nearside of the box which carries an aluminium 'bellcrank' which is moved by the lever and relays to the selector rod,it has two plastic bushes running on the shaft, but despite this it gets so seized it fractures at one end thus gear selection is lost.Remove the spring clip which holds it to the shaft and work it in and out with lots of oil, penetrating oil first then some engine oil,do it soonest !!
