Finally got my Scorpio back, working at last, on Friday. Unfortunately the radio (5000 RDS) is now demanding a code (presumably due to the power being cut while the engine electrics were fixed) and I don't have the radio code - either I never had it and never needed it up til now, or I've lost it.

Searching on the forum, I found the link to the program that will generate the code from the radio serial number, but the program won't run on this Windows 7 machine.

The serial number of the radio is M191843. Could someone help me out and find the code, please? Thanks.

Also, is there some knack to reinserting the radio? Having pulled it out to read the serial number, I now can't get it back in again. :( It goes in about half way, then seems to jam solid against something. I'm afraid to push harder than I've tried. Any tips gratefully received.

Thanks very much. That's the right number. And, oddly, that number was actually written on the label on top of the radio body, in the box marked 'Dealer'.

I'm still stuck on getting it back in, though. Just goes half way, then won't budge. I have made sure the plastic slider thing on the top engages with the rail in the fitting, but that doesn't seem to make any difference.

check that the metal frame surround inside at the rear of the radio is not bent and stopping it going all the way in, otherwise it may just need a good shove to get it in!

Finally got it in just as I was about to give up.
