Title: Hesitant diesel
Post by simonsp on Mar 25th, 2011, 8:11pm
Hi everybody!!
I have just bought an S reg 2.5td. I noticed that it is not as quick as an Audi 1.9td that I recently drove.
I have given it a service and even replaced glowplugs.
The turbo cant be heard whilst driving but when idling it sucks your hand into the intake pipe.
The maf and map sensors are new. I cant find any air leaks. The car revs the full range and whilst at a standstill when you rev it there is a slight missfire
I am now stuck!!
Thanks in advance
Simon

Hi have a look at the post below about needle lift on my 2.5. Sounds like you may have a faulty number 1 injector.  Geoff

Cheers Geoff!!
I did undo each injector and the engine note did change on all of them. I hope it is that simple.

No 1 monitors metering, if not working you get an effect similar to limp home mode and in my case no turbo effect.

Ford in Germany, 215gbp, exchange. Not a cheap fix, but it transformed the cars performance. Have a look at the link I started.
