cant find the thread but isnt there some trick to sorting either cooking in airing cupboard or cooling? any direction would be appreciated

The first step is to remove the 'security panel' and clean all the contacts with contact cleaner. The next step,which has worked for some, is to put the unit in the airing cupboard or the freezer. It seems to be a case of 'fingers crossed' ! Make sure you have the radio code or while it is out take the serial number so someone on here can provide it for you. Sometimes the code number is written on the unit casing. Good luck, :)
