Title: Re: how do you know if...... Post by Jonnycab on Sep 17th, 2011, 8:52pm Bounce each corner of the car, it should bounce once & settle. If it carries on bouncing, then that shock is most likely kaput ;) Shocks are best replaced in pairs ;). With these cars getting older by the day & if the original shocks are still fitted, then if one shock is kaput, you can pretty much bet the one on the other side will be in a similar condition :) |

Title: Re: how do you know if...... Post by rich1 on Sep 18th, 2011, 8:04pm well i have had a gander and i think it could be the exchaust has dropped , did the bounce test has jonnycab suggested and it was fine ,space between wheel arches is same both sides so will get someone to look at exhaust . been thinking about getting a new one anyway because of the muffler stuff coming out so this has pretty much made my mind up for me |

Title: Re: how do you know if...... Post by Mike H on Sep 18th, 2011, 8:48pm Car is low to the ground anyway so not a lot of spare inches between exhaust and the ground at best, I used to have bits of the wire mesh around the flexi-pipe hanging down where it had been snagged on things. Been tidied up now since new exhaust last year. |
