Hi, just wondering if anyone knows of something i can buy to stop a leak in the engine, i have tried a few things that seemed to work but only for couple of weeks, if i run car for a while the leak starts up again, or would it mean dropping another engine in, thanks for any help.

We need a bit more idea of what the "leak" is and which engine etc

but swapping the engine seems a bit extreme ;D

Its a 2.3 16v double overhead cam, its leaking water from a crack in the engine near the water pump, thanks

1xtea s p o o n of nutmeg has stopped a very bad leak from the heater matrix in my granada scorpio for over five years now. ;D Same trick has stopped a leak on my brothers laguna rad for a couple of months now. Same thing is in rad w==d I think!.

Is it the engine block thats cracked?

Hi, took it to garage and they say its the N/STK MANIFOLD ASSY that i need the price 459.65 :(

Could it be the inlet manifold? I have read on here that the 2.3 has plastic inlet manifolds that crack and that the gaskets are rubber or did I get it wrong?

Water pump is t'other side from the inlet manifold :-/

Could simply be water pump shaft seal has gone? Seems most likely.

After a quick Google seems they might be talking about inlet manifold yes. But as mentioned can't see how you could confuse that with water pump, unless water is running across under the sump for some reason (?)
