Title: ABS code and airbag light
Post by Glyn on Nov 19th, 2011, 1:44pm
Can anyone tell me what code C1267 "ABS functions temporarily disabled" means? Found when local mechanic was reading fault codes as ABS/TC lights had been on for a short time a few days before , no faults since.
My airbag warning light comes on intermittently and often goes out either on its own or if I hit a bump. It definitely does not flash a code but stays on continuously until it goes off, almost like a loose connection. Is there any way of reading fault codes for the airbags?
Some may remember my post some time ago re MAF and irregular idle - it turned out to be not the MAF but a cracked T pioce on vac pipe behind the engine - local mechanic (autoelec engineer Ford trained) found out by spraying carb cleaner in that area and noting change in tickover- he had done it before !
'95 cossie now 150k-tempted by the Guerney one !

Yes Mike, tried search. ABS fault not recurred just wondered if anyone knew what would cause that fault code as it doesn't say why it was disabled.
still have problem with airbag light-local guy is going to put electroconductive grease on the module connectors, apparently another Ford "mod"-even has a finis code !

Google to the rescue!

Found this topic:

In that case it was pump not working.

More Googling continues to point to pump problem, including bad electrical connections, bad battery terminal connections, also low battery Voltage can raise the error. The latter because the pump won't run during a diagnostic test.

Hi, i have the same problem with my airbag light. I tend to fiddle around with the wire under the passenger seat, that seems to work for me for a while. Loose connection perhaps?
