Title: Headlamp bulb replaced. Won't turn on.
Post by Kristian on Jun 26th, 2012, 8:25pm
Hi,

I have replaced the bulb (55w) for the low beams. Now it won't turn on. I have checked the fuse box. The new bulb is also fine. For some reason there is only 1.5 volts on the main lead wire to the headlamp. Weird?
Also, the headlamp leveling system does not respond when operating the switch inside the car.

Is there something special to be done when replacing a headlamp bulb?

Thanks.

check the connection on the back of the headlight switch

also check the wiring plug on the headlamp and the ground wire on the bulb retainer

Was the old bulb definitely blown ? I had same problem with dipped beam aand it turned out to be the dreaded corroded fuse box problem.
