I have a fault with the air con/ heating on my Ultima.

In hot weather the air con starts off beautifully but as O go further distances it seems to need a lower and lower setting until it reaches a point wher I can tyrn it from auto to full fan and the fan will work but no air seems to flow. Its as if when the car gets hot somehow the flps that let the air into the car seem to shut. Could it be a simple thermostat problem.

When I reset the aircon I get a “57” up in the passenger side dial and it can take hen pressing the reset button 00 will appear only for 57 to re appear. I can get rid of the 57 and get the “00” up but it cane take 2 or 3 resets to do it. The 57 reappears on the next reset after having done a journey.

I get a similar problem with the heating in cold weather as I have to increase the set temperature as the journey progresses.

If any one can shed any light or offer any advice I would be most appreciative.

The code 57 is generally regarded as a 'blip' and it is actually 07 which indicates a fault on the HBC unit. The only remedy is to obtain another unit. Parts wanted?. Have a read of This page (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/ccreset.htm). :)
