Title: Running rough Post by michaelelise on Nov 9th, 2012, 5:26pm Hi all, I wonder if you have any suggestions of what could be wrong with this. I have a 98 24v when I start up from cold in the mornings the car runs really rough coughing spluttering and a misfire and it will not pull at all. If I give it full throttle it takes about 5-6 seconds to respond and then I will be only doing about 10-15 mph. When I get about a 1/2 a mile to a mile up the road you can feel the car begin to clear and then the car will fly. Then it ticks over and runs fine. It changes over to gas as soon as the car gets warm and then it sits on gas and ticks over good as well. I have changed the near side lambda sensor today. I have also chaged the MAF with one from another car which I know is working. If I unplug the MAF the car ticks over ok. Has anyone got any ideas? Kind Regards Michael |

Title: Re: Running rough Post by leewar on Nov 9th, 2012, 5:40pm Michael, How do you know that the maf you took from the other car is working? If unpluging it makes the car tick over better, try removing it and give it a good, careful clean with carb cleaner. The first thing to try ;) Cheers Lee |

Title: Re: Running rough Post by michaelelise on Nov 9th, 2012, 6:27pm Hi Lee I have cleaned the maf and that has made no difference. I know the other maf is good as the car it was from was running well when I stripped it for parts. Michael |

Title: Re: Running rough Post by Mike H on Nov 15th, 2012, 10:35pm Just a long shot, might be damp wiring which is dried out once the engine / car gets hot enough? |

Title: Re: Running rough Post by michaelelise on Nov 17th, 2012, 7:26am Hi Mike, It could be damp in the loom as no diagnostic codes are showing up. Thanks for the reply Michael |
