Title: Mass Airflow Pressure sensor
Post by mcadam on Nov 13th, 2012, 11:08pm
Hi, my scorpio 2.9 12v has recently began to idle very roughly and cuts out upon starting the engine and whilst driving.  I took it to a garage and was told it is likely to be the mass airflow pressure sensor but I am cant find this part anywhere - the part number is:E7EF-9F479-A2A

Does anyone know where I could get one as the MOT is up within the next few days - thanks

The 12v does not have a MAF it does however haver have MAP sensor which is located on the right hand inner wing as you look into the engine ( N/S inner wing) it has a rubber pipe going to it.
The 12v is basically the older Granada engine with a few refinements, Have you looked to the plugs and leads and also the rotor arm in the distributor, I would think they are a more likely cause for the rough running. Also Make sure the vacuum hose is not leaking , the one going to the air intake control valve just past the air filter.
All of these items can cause the rough running especially on tickover.
