Title: Re: no heat Post by Simmo on Jan 27th, 2013, 9:25pm Go to 'How to do things'. Page one has an article on back flushing the Matrix and page 4 one on removing air locks. I'd try the air lock one first and a climate control reset (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/ccreset.htm) as well. :) |

Title: Re: no heat Post by Glyn on Jan 27th, 2013, 10:16pm Had the same problem. Airlocks can be very difficult to remove on occasion. Backflushing cured my problem for about 2 years but then had to replace the matrix-it was solid with bits of plastic, only then did I realise my "hot" air had only been warm compared to the 70deg+ which I now get! |

Title: Re: no heat Post by raybythesea on Feb 9th, 2013, 8:39am Just had the same problem, check th water leveland topupmine looked as if it had water, no warning light but when I took off th cap no water.Went for a runand the heater kicked in, think there was an air lock because oflow water. Th e sensor for water level can sometimes stop working, check manually on a regular basis. Raymond |

The sensor wasn't fitted at all to later Scorps. There's a trend to give drivers less and less info about their car - my wifes 06 Astra H doesn't even have a temp gauge! |

Title: Re: no heat Post by raybythesea on Mar 3rd, 2013, 8:09pm Heating failed again so this time over to the garage after discussions we changed thermostat, replaced water pump, this was possibly the reason gave the whole system a really good flush and now I have heat!!! I have to say I think it has gradually been getting worse over the years. Just one other observation if you have the automatic cooled by the radiator check them, they are hidden by the cover and the pipes rust. The first you know is lost fluid, worth having a look occasionally. Thanks for everyones help. Raymond |
