Title: ABS problem. HELP
Post by bielas on Jan 29th, 2013, 7:55pm
Hi all. :-[

I have a problem with the ABS system on my car. The first days when braking at low speeds (5-10 mph more or less) the brake pedal shakes when it runs the ABS. Now the ABS light does not turn off when you start the engine and stays on all the time.

I cleaned and tested all sensors from the module connector, RR, RL, FL give values of 1030 omhs, but the FR sensor gives a value of 1650 Omhs. Before connector modules are all equal values 1030 Omhs. The problem of ABS light on may be in the wiring from the sensor connector to the connector RL module? Thanks for the help. I a new member

My car is Scorpio 1995 2.5TD VM engine.

Regards, Rafa.

Have a look at the connector on the inside of the right front wing in the wheel archt They can collect dirt or corrode. Chech the resistance after cleaning the pins> There have been reports on this site of the wires corroding near the connector.

Even if the connector seem to be ok, take it apart and 'wiggle' the metal parts, they are often broken inside.   I had to 'hard-wire' with solder my drivers-side connector in the wheel-arch, this was the only way to fix the same problem you have.
