Title: Re: bulbs headlamps scorpio ultima Post by Mike H on Feb 9th, 2013, 12:45pm The sensitivity of the retina to light decreases with age. A year or so ago my uncle, now into his 80's, announced he was not going drive in the dark anymore. I also have noticed as I get older how it's more difficult to see at night. Noticably been coming on in recent years. |

Title: Re: bulbs headlamps scorpio ultima Post by raybythesea on Feb 10th, 2013, 11:12am Thanks for advice and help, have ordered the suggested bulbs, it was commented at the last MOT that they were dull. Will look inside as suggested. As I am 78, a young 78, i might add it could be due to that but my Son says they are definitely below par. Will let you all know how I get on, much appreciate the advice and help Raymond |

Title: Re: bulbs headlamps scorpio ultima Post by raybythesea on Feb 12th, 2013, 9:59pm Hi Changed bulbs, much better. In one of the replies it referred to flipping the fron t glass out for cleaning, how easy is it to do this and do you have to use a sealent when replacing as the rubber is probably hard by now. Also how do you adjust direction, the manual says leave it to a garage!!!! Many thanks, Raymond |

Title: Re: bulbs headlamps scorpio ultima Post by Mike H on Feb 17th, 2013, 1:22pm This should help - http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/headglass.htm Although when I did this had to loosen the whole unit's mounting screws (do not remove completely!) to make more room because it's pressed up against the wing. Also be careful the clips don't break. |

Title: Re: bulbs headlamps scorpio ultima Post by Mike H on Feb 17th, 2013, 1:36pm Right EVENTUALLY found this http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/electrical/exterior/Headlampsalign.pdf Two white plastic screws with hollow hexagon heads, inboard does up - down, outboard does left - right. 10mm ring spanner fits nicely. Warning - turn by VERY small increments only! HTH |
