Title: Bars leaks,
Post by ro284 on Mar 17th, 2013, 10:50am
I am still having coolant problems, no sign of any loss, but its been so wet here it's difficult to tell! I have used Bars leaks and the like before but then had Heater matrix block up, i would guess around 1 litre a week is going somewhere,! i was wondering about looping the heater hoses out of the system so that none of the stuff gets in the heater, Any thoughts please? Bob ps. (Still needing an Abs Plug!)

I'd not put any of that cr@p in any cooling system  ;)

Is it a 24V ? They can leak in the "valley" or the by-pass hose that runs through the n/s head, all of which can be difficult to see  ;)

HTH

A very popular place for a leak in these cars is the expansion tank getting a hairline split. It will only leak when the car is at full temp & the cooling system at max pressure.
Tell tale signs are a couple of streams of water (or white residue...dried coolant) running from under the expansion tank toward the wiper tank.

Good luck  :)
