Title: Speedo & Cruise Control Post by Mottsy on Aug 22nd, 2013, 1:19pm Hi all. Just back from my holiday in the new Forest, the old girl ran smoothly the only issue was occasionally the speedo would suddenly stop working for a few seconds or a couple of minutes and then spring back into life. I also noted that while the speedo was u/s the cruise control would not switch on either? it only happend a few times and was working fine on the drive home. Any ideas? |

Title: Re: Speedo & Cruise Control Post by Snoopy on Aug 22nd, 2013, 5:10pm I concur! VSS can be faulty but also give the contacts of the buttons a squirt of switch cleaner if all else fails |

Title: Re: Speedo & Cruise Control Post by Mottsy on Aug 23rd, 2013, 12:35pm Thanks for the replies. Can anyone tell me where to find the VSS, and if it can be repaired or do I need a new one? It's for a 2.9 12v ultima estate. Thanks Tony |

Title: Re: Speedo & Cruise Control Post by Glyn on Aug 23rd, 2013, 2:01pm Had the same problem last year with a 24v. In the event it turned out the the VSS was ok but it was the wiring to it which was faulty- the old crumbling insulation problem ! |
