Title: Heater Problem 2.3 Ultima Estate
Post by exucasvu on Oct 17th, 2013, 9:59am
Good Morning,
The heating ventilation system on my 2.3 Ultima Estate is playing up a a bit and I wonder if anyone can give me a few pointers as to what may be the problem. First of all I ought to say that I am aware that the air conditioning system is not working and I intend to deal with that before next summer. However, yesterday it was raining heavily and the interior misted up quite badly when I returned to the car. I turned on the heating and fan and noticed that it was blowing cold air until I increased the temperature to 25 degrees. The fan seemed to be coming on and off intermittently as well (this has been happening for a while now). Once I managed to demist the car and turned the temp down to 18 degrees it immediately started to blow cold again.
I have checked all the hoses and vents etc and all seem to be ok so I am at a bit of a loss as to where to go from here. Any advice would be most welcome.  :) :)

The first thing I'd check is the filters. If they get wet or are blocked up that can cause a problem. Is the 'flap' that covers them in the engine bay secure? If they get wet that will also cause misting.  ;) This picture (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/blower01.jpg) shows the flap where the filter is located. Immediately behind the aperture, marked by the white arrow, where the HBC has been removed. IF it is clipped in place take care as the clips will often come off totally and disappear into the engine bay!. :)

Hello.
I am from Romania. I have an Scorpio Ultima 2.0.
Soryy if will be some wrongs in writing.
I have also a problem with the heater or some electrical ones.
I dont,t have internal light ( the ones who start when you open a door), no clock working, the heater work at full speed when you start the engine (cold air income even with the engine heated) and the SATC don,t take any command, also the wipers don,t work in timed position, not even when you press the button to clean with whater the windshield.
I have checked the fuses. Finded F7 damaged, changed and damaged again when I started the engine. The rest of fuses are ok.
I assume there is a contact between those electrical circuits. Whre can be so I can fix the problem. I intend to take out  the entire dashboard to look for wires contact, etc.

Try checking the wires behind the ashtray, or see if it still blows with the ashtray open.

Today I started to remove the dash to see if there is a short somewhere.
I will make pictures to post them.
Also I have some pictures from when I changed the wires of the engine(injectors , coils, vacuum, pilot, etc).
Exucasvu,  the last problem it can be is the Matrix.   I changed it when I had the same problem as you describe.
