Title: Coolant loss Post by Pegasus on Dec 13th, 2013, 8:55pm Hi, for 1st time had to call out rescue - 2 miles from home ::) Got coolant loss in the short large hose that turns about 90 degrees as it leaves/enters the pump. It's a split where the hose goes onto the pump. Tried to push the hose onto the pump a bit more - just made it worse. I might have a spare but would prefer to have new hose. Any idea where I can get one as I seem to recall they might be discontinued? Also, any idea what it's really called or even it's FINIS? I looked on the site HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/leaks.htm) but the diagram for the Cosworth doesn't show the part but I think the diagram for the Cologne engine indicates part '2' where it joins at point 8. Thanks Paul |

Title: Re: Coolant loss Post by Glyn on Dec 13th, 2013, 11:18pm Sorry I meant 24 |

Title: Re: Coolant loss Post by Glyn on Dec 13th, 2013, 11:35pm Have a look on the main site -"24v engine rebuild"- Final reassembly-bottom row of photographs "hoses and....." Is that the one connected to the thermostat? |

Title: Re: Coolant loss Post by Scorpio_Mike on Dec 14th, 2013, 7:57am Silicone hoses for BOB 24v available from : http://roosemotorsport.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1497 Not cheap for a full set but they may be willing to supply just a single hose...although if you intend to keep the car a long time it might make sense to go the whole hog - at least you would never have to worry about hoses again. |

Title: Re: Coolant loss Post by amigafan2003 on Dec 14th, 2013, 8:52am I got mine from http://www.fordpartsuk.com/ just asked for a "waterpump to thermostat 90 degree hose" and they sent me a diagram to confirm the part I wanted. Was about £15 I recall. |

Title: Re: Coolant loss Post by Pegasus on Dec 16th, 2013, 2:08pm That's the 1, Andy (same quote I got) but I got it cheaper at local FMD :o because you also have to add £4 p&p at FPUK. Drove the car 300yds to my garage with no coolant - engine was still cold. Will be replacing hose soon. It looks fairly straightforward - unless someone tells me otherwise. Will also replace the large top hose which is showing signs of wear. |

Title: Re: Coolant loss Post by amigafan2003 on Dec 16th, 2013, 8:33pm It's easy enough to replace - just remove the air con belt, the belt tensioner and the 4 bolts securing the air con pump bracket to the block so you can slide it out of the way. You usually have to cut the old hose off as it welds itself to the pump/thermostat. Shouldn't be any more than a couple of hours labour at any half competent garage. |

Title: Re: Coolant loss Post by Andycan on Feb 7th, 2014, 5:22pm Which way do you turn the bolt that holds the tensioner for the waterpump, alternator and steering pump belt on the 24v please? mine seems to be stuck lol. |
