Title: Side & dashboard lights on
Post by Malcolm73 on Jan 16th, 2014, 12:14pm
On the 14th. January I drove home in torrential rain and garaged my 24V but was unable to extinguish the side lights, both front and rear.  I removed two 5A fuses to save the battery and then realised that the instrument panel was also still illuminated.

The battery cover is always present.

Could the rotary light switch be a possibility?

At 8.00 A.M. on the same day it passed the MOT

Regards, Malcolm73

Malcolm. Good to hear you've got the car through the MOT. There is a known fault with the light switch overheating one of the terminals BUT that usually prevents the lights from working. The other known issue is related to the main, drivers side fusebox, particularly if the large connector has been removed for any reason. That 'box' can also suffer from water ingress if the cover is not on correctly or there is debris round it preventing water from getting away into the engine compartment and thus affecting the box itself. Have a look around and let us know how you get on. ;)
