Title: Scorpio BOB cosworth no spark
Post by barton on Apr 19th, 2014, 6:49pm
Hi,

i implemented the 2,9i 24v BOB into Cortina MK4 with all the stuff (engine, gearbox, ECU, PCM, fuel pump .... i would say, i put everything into the Cortina) However i have no spark on spark plugs. The engine wires are new, i have changed the EDIS. No result.

Has anyone any idea where i should try to find problem? I consider i have cut some wire from ECU which lead to doors or to rear part of the car, i left the fuel cut off valve wires, and the emergency switch in the rear boot lock.

Thanks for help, Boris.

Hi

Did you transfer the PATS system, are you using a key (or its transponder) coded to the system within the vicinity of the PATS transceiver, did you include the PATS light & does it flash any codes?

Yes, PATS is there, I do have 3 coded keys. The ECCV was checked for errors during ignition. I expect it could be failure of camshaft sensor, but such a failure should not be typical for that engine, and i can not get any spare sensor or since i cut out some wires (seats, doors, abs) there could be missing some ground, or other necessary circuit.

Check + and - to EDIS module and make sure wiring from EDIS Module to ECU is real good, they seem to need really good wiring or they give all sorts of grief.
Also make sure the coil pack has 12V with Ignition on

So, I did the check. Everything was OK. So no progress yet.
