One of my scorps has a rear view mirror that does not darken any more' although the green light is on and it has not leaked (yet ! )
Looks like I will need a replacement or a repair as I do like the auto feature.
There are a couple of places in the USA which do repairs, but I seem to remember someone writing on this site about replacing theirs with similar ones from a Jag/BMW/Mondeo, one even said to fit the ball mount rather than replacing the windscreen mount.
Anyone done this, or found another make where the glass unit would fit ?

I fitted one from a BMW, you will need the screen mount bit as well. It had the same three wires as the scorp.
On a recent visit to a scrapyard a high spec mondeo mirror looks a good match.

Thanks for that. I will have a look. I did wonder about the Mondeo one - looks similar on the pictures I have seen.

Mondeo is a match, but there is something different I can't remember what? I have used a Mondeo one on mine, but it only lasted a couple of months so I'm back to a manual-mirror!

Maybe it was an early one Peter before they changed to using the gel.
Found a guy who says he repairs BMW ones who thinks he may be able to supply the glass unit for a DIY repair and he is in the UK.
I'll let you know how I get on.

Try one from a high spec Renault, Peugeot, Lancia, Citroen. They are all the same. Produced around 2000-2005...Lancia Phedra, Citroen C8, Peugeot 807. You only need to change the mounting, therefore do not throw away the broken one from your Scorpio. You can also get e.g. a Peugeot 307, it is a bit smaller but it also works fine - cheaper. The wiring is the same.
