hi trying to do the head gasket :(

one of the collets has fallen through into the engine,
does anyone know where it might of ended up we got a camera that you connect to the laptop so have used that to put down the hole but cant see it so went through the sump end and its not in there.
any ideas plz

Ooops...
Assume you mean valve collet ?
If it's dropped down into the sump then it could be anywhere, possibly could have ended up caught in the gears on the balancer shafts which your engine will have being a 2.3...
Not a good idea to ignore, potentially catastrophic engine damage awaits.
I'd guess you will at least need to take the sump off or take the engine out.

Yep, sump drain and check for starters. If you're lucky it's in the sump.

well we found it and got it out with a magnet. we used a camera like the ones doctors use and saw it on the crankshaft. if you got £30 spare I would recommend the camera, did but it so I could look down my dogs ears as she has problems with them but now hubby is having it for the car
