hi guys just done a head gasket on the engine perfectly running now but when looking for the water leak found by the garage yesterday when doing a mot. we have found that the plastic chain guide has broke. does that mean we have to redo the timing chain ie buy a whole new kit and bomb. hope you can help thanks

If you mean the guide that is on the top run between the camshafts, I recently changed that when I renewed the cam cover & front cover gaskets. That was all I changed. Whether the same can be said for any other guide I don't know.

Check with the spares guy at your local FMD to see if the broken part is available on its own so you don't have to buy a complete kit ?

You can just replace the guide - no need to do the chain.
