Title: Heating problem Post by catalina on Jan 22nd, 2016, 12:52pm On my Cosworth there is almost no heating. I suspect there is a problem with the matrix. (On my previous car I had the matrix replaces at enormous cost. This time I have to try to solve the problem myself.) Intend to check if there is an airlock. Then to try to flush matrix carefully. Can anyone advise where there are some instructions on where to start, please? I noticed on topic dated 05-01-15 that there is a reference to a section "How to do things". Where is this section please? Any other ideas as to where to start would be greatly appreciated. Cheers John |

Title: Re: Heating problem Post by Glyn on Jan 22nd, 2016, 3:04pm The "How to do" page is at the bottom of the general section. Several members have replaced the matrix, a long fiddly job but quite possible and the matrix wasn't horrifically expensive. Hopefully a flush will do it ! Glyn |

Title: Re: Heating problem Post by Simmo on Jan 22nd, 2016, 5:17pm The How to do Things as Tompion says is at the end of the General list Here (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=admin) If you look a short way down you will see one of Tompion's posts about the matrix and there is a link in that article to the process. :) |

Title: Re: Heating problem Post by Simmo on Jan 23rd, 2016, 9:34am The time issue is something which started a short while ago. We think it may be related to a change of server by the owner of the site who is in the Sates. Snoopy managed to get it to its current time but it will not go to the correct time! It started off being many hours out. ;) |

Title: Re: Heating problem Post by catalina on Jan 24th, 2016, 11:20am Count Arthur Strong has got nothing on you lot. The clock is the round thing with one short finger and one long finger. You adjust it by pushing either the + or _ button. I would have thought you would have known that. Also, to avoid any further misunderstandings, its the car heater I've got problems with. Not the toaster. (Although I notice my toast was a bit burnt this morning). This started off so well. Your help is genuinely appreciated John |

Title: Re: Heating problem Post by catalina on Feb 7th, 2016, 2:16pm During a break in the rain today I had a quick look at the point where the two hoses go through the bulkhead. My first reaction was "Oh dear, oh dear , oh dear". "Its going to be a cold winter". Its not clear if I should go in from the top or from below. Must see if its possible to connect in at the opposite end of these hoses, ie where they connect to the engine. Any advice from someone with first hand experience of flushing the matrix would be much appreciated; especially on a Cosworth. Cheers John |
