This is sorted now. I re programmed the remote and the tailgate opens

I cant open the tailgate on my estate. First of all the key stopped working but it was fine with the remote. now it wont open at all. The central locking is ok. What can I do ? Is the a way to release the tailgate from inside the car at the back ?

I seem to remember several people had this problem a long time ago. Perhaps a search of the topics will reveal a solution for you.

So, the tailgate won't open with the key, remote or central locking ?
Possible the wires to the tailgate electrics have broken due to flexing each time the tailgate is opened & closed.
Only suggestion to get it open that I can think of is to climb in the back and somehow remove the tailgate interior trim and see if you can operate the latch manually.

Mike. If you re read the post you will see that Tony has updated at the start to say he fixed it by reprogramming the remote. Key or 'button' is not mentioned. ;)
