I have a faulty loom which I cannot replace and is difficult to repair due to the complexity all the plastic is breaking off. Have tried everywhere to get a replacement or get someone to repair. Looks as if car will have to be scrapped but it has only 85000 miles on and is otherwise in good condition. If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful

If you can use a soldering iron, it's not too difficult to renovate a loom by cutting back to as near the connectors as possible then soldering new wires in & sealing each one with heat-shrink.
Best way is to lay it out on a peg-board and change one wire at a time.
I've done both my engine & gearbox looms. Details are in the HOW TO section. Just be methodical & take your time.
Probably, the most difficult bit is getting the looms off & on the car. I did my engine loom in-situ but for the gearbox I bought an old loom on eBay which I repaired and then took the car to a friendly auto-box specialist who swapped it for me.

I have just now had the looms rebuilt by Mark at Misterton Garage, Crewkerne, Somerset. Tel. 01460 72997. He is a top man, Ford trained on Scorpios, and he knows what he is doing also has time to talk. Give him a phone call.

O have sorted out the loomb and it now start but only on a by pass wire for the solonoid. This clicks an lughts did any ideas Raymond
