Hello all.
My 24V has been sat idle for several weeks and after recharging the battery (after disconnecting it) it restarted happily enough. The idle is a bit lumpy, so I will inspect the plugs, but the hazards appear to be on permanently.
I haven't driven anywhere yet, but can anyone suggest what might be going on here?

I think it may have been the alarm going off, but I have disconnected the horn behind the battery. In any case, it has now stopped, so apart from my lumpy idle, I think I'm heading in the right direction. Best wishes to all.

I don't know of any specific fault, I'd check the switch & the relay. The relay can be difficult to see/remove, it's behind the the steering column cowel & plugs into the indicator switch body.

Chances are the lumpy engine will sort itself once the sensor values are relearnt after a run.

Thanks Tompion, encouraging thoughts. I think in the past it has sorted itself out so I'm hoping for a repeat performance.

The bonnet switch is often the cause of alarm problems. Lubrication might help. Make sure it is working correctly and that the plastic block on the underside of the bonnet, which operates it, is in place and adjusted correctly.

Tompion is right, as ever!, but it might also be worth cleaning the MAF (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cleanmaf.htm) to help cure the rough running. ;)

Jeff, to be clear the switch is separate from the catch. It is a spring loaded 'peg' which sticks up when the bonnet is opened and is compressed when the bonnet is closed. :) The wiring to it runs under the slam panel.
