For some unknown reason the interior lights on the bulk head are not working - the middle switch set to 10 sec timer does not work and if I switch over to the light source when I engage the automatic control I get a warning sound as if you open the door with the engine running, the 2 spots are not working either - fuse OK as this is on the same circuit as the radio.
The rear window heater is also not working, fuses and relay checked, but the dash indicator is showing on.
Any ideas?

For the interior lights check fuse 36 (power saver).
Whether that effects the rear window heater timer I don't know.

Hi Dave,
As promised here is the result - Fuse 36 was indeed blown and restored the bulhead and rear interior lights, and has also stopped the warning signal when selecting gears when door is closed.
I did find the cause of the blown fuse (36) when the centre console switch is put in the right side mode I think that is the switch that controls the timer light when the doors are open Any ideas on this anyone?

Thanks for letting us know.

The interior light units can get brittle from the heat of the bulb. The plastic of one of mine had broken around the brass tracks allowing it to short & blow the fuse - I think the metal reflector may have been involved as that no longer fitted properly due to the plastic failing.

You can replace the bulbs with more modern LED's which give out very little heat.

I have LED's - get hotter than you might expect - probably need better quality :)

I have had a look at the section where the 2 spots are and interior light is, Not sure how to get to the bulb to see if they are shorted do I prise the unit off to get the screws - do not want to damage the top.

Assume you mean the bit where the sunroof switch is ?
The lights can be carefully prised out with a thin screwdriver - put a bit of insulation tape on the blade so you don't scratch the plastic.

Hi,
I have finally got round to sort out the fuse blowing when the timer light on the bulkhead is switched on.
There was indeed a short and on examining found that the live side of torpedo bulb had twisted as the plastic had broken away with the heat and the live terminal was in contact with silver coloured cover that is metal and is earthed when the cover is closed.
I repositioned the live terminal with Lion glue, let it sit for at least 6 hours then replaced the unit back into the bulkhead - Now works fine.
