it would appear the recent extreme temperatures have done in my main fuse box. after doing various checks, fuses and relays OK, I suspect that underneath the " print " or conductivity layers are O/C. car starts but no lights, wipers, indicators et al. can anybody assist in sourcing a replacement box ? thank you

The faults you describe in relation to the main fuse box are often associated with the large connector not being put back on correctly. IT MUST HAVE THE LUGS LOCATED CORRECTLY before pushing it down. It will click in place BUT it can be one row of pins out and that will cause issues. There is an old saying on here "If it goes down first time it probably ain't right"!

thanks. problem is, is that the large connector had not been disturbed. I have since unlatched it and reseated it , the cam mechanism as far as I see prevents the connector from being incorrectly seated. as an aside, if anyone has replaced a box is it the case the plugs beneath the box have to be removed first before the box can be lifted out. the state of play at the moment is that there does not appear to be enough slack in the wiring to completely remove the box.

The plug hinges in, you can get the open part of the hinge the wrong side of the hinge pin which means some of the connectors don’t engage.

The “" print " or conductivity layers” are stamped out copper sheet, same thickness as say the pins on a relay so not like a faulty circuit board if that’s what you’re thinking.

Yes you need to disconnect all connectors underneath to remove the box, they’re all different so can only go back in the right place. There have been instances of problems from these losing contact (probably not pushed home properly in the first place).
