Nice price.
I've just had to insure my 2.5 diesel estate......£903  }{

0 NCB though as I had a company car for 4 years & when I left they wouldn't send me a copy of the NCB certificate  :(

Who's that with & do you have NCB ??

UPDATE.

Well, I've nosed around & the best quote I've had is £507 TPFT

Problem is when I had my Peugeot the company I'm with quoted £300, which I was happy with.
When I sold it & brought the Scorpio, I expected the cost to be a little higher.
When I informed them though, I was told £903.

Now, if I cancel the cover, I lose the 5 months NCB I've built up + they want £50 cancallation fee.  :-/

???
There seems to be a lot of issues with the scorpion insurance and for the life of me I cant see why . . .

My 2.8inj XR4x4  was £280  fully comp

My 2.3inj ultima   IS £400    Fully comp  ??? ??? ???

Im 50yr old full 20+ yrs no claim

Now here is the thing . . .
When they say Have you made any claims in the last 3 or 5 yrs is that looked at as

1. I had accident not my fault I did not  claim I just told my insurance company and done paper work

Now is this classed as a claim

Or

2. I caused the crash and had to make a claim

Is this what they mean  ???

Basicly if I was in a accident not my fault got all my excess back is it still classed as a claim

hi there

yes, AFAIK. anything reported to the insurance is classed as a 'claim', regardless of fault.

That is NOT strictly true but you need to ask your insurer what policy he uses. My company, like most require as a condition of insurance that you notify them of ANY accidents/damage regardless of whether you claim or not, but do not class notifications to them as " Claims".
However,if you fail to comply with this condition and you do need to make a claim and they find out that you have had accidents/damage, and not notified them then they can and sometimes do withdraw the insurance cover, (it reverts to very basic 3rd party)
So its always worth talking to them and asking. NOT specifics just their policy and get it in writing if its different to the norm!

hi Dave

i was basing my post on something i read from an insurance rep on one of the forums i use.

it goes along the line that if you've been in an accident, regardless of fault, then (most) insurance companies will put a weighting on you, making your insurance a bit more expensive.

i might be able to track the post down, but it was a while back, now.

cheers

I think Matt you'll find, assuming you can get insurance for it, that in the end it may just be simpler to having your wages paid into their bank account rather than yours to pay for it.  }{  }{

Matt, track down a broker in the midlands called MCE - they managed to get my Xr4x4 3.2 Turbo insured for just £440 fully comp :)

I was going to put the scorp on that policy when i bought it, but they declined the vehicle - it wasnt modified ENOUGH }{

I manage £328 fully comp,
Im 27 no points and 6 years ncd,

Its through Esure, however the beast got screwed on Saturday night and they want to tow it away before they decide on a price and wont supply a curtesy car as advertised as its not getting repaired.

Its just legalised theft if you as me.

The will allow me to claim for the child seat that was stolen but nto my 2 12"subs n amp. Niether were declared, go figure.

bryn.
Don't let em tow it away,unless police are involved with forensics the insurers can see what they need to at your place.One of our family had a similar thing whereby her car was transported to 'an approved repairer' with light frontal damage,it was duly condemned to death,and taken to another compound to be crushed before she agreed anything with the insurers.It took me prolonged sleuthing to locate the car,get it back and repair it for £300.If the car belongs to you,then you decide where it stays.
