Just had my renewal of buildings and contents home insurance, £735, went on gocompare andf aa quoted £290, Im sure they just try it on

they do!!

I think they assume (probably correctly) that most people just renew rather than change insurer

Yes,when I had a mortgage the insurance was through the building society,I asked the broker who does my vehicles,she cut the price in half,they robbed me for years !!
