Title: Latest quote
Post by Chieftain on Dec 23rd, 2010, 5:13pm
At this festive time besides cards i always get my new quote from my broker and i feel quite pleased with it after reading some of the quotes on here. £388.89 includes full recovery, free car and free collection and delivery this is with Groupama, my previous company wanted £418.15 so i think it is a good deal, especially for a Cossie.

That an online quote?   Groupama are OK I think, I had a policy with them a while ago and someone bumped me, so I claimed off my own lot and they got my excess  back (I think £100) back from the other company!   No filling out loads of forms either.    :D

Hehe, you're lucky ;)

Got the renewal for the Jag a few weeks back, £570 :(

Fully comp with a full NCB, no claims in 8 years of driving.

Apparently they still see me as a liability cos of my age, they don't want to be responsible for all the havoc I haven't caused yet ;D

Most amusing quote this year was Aviva, £1780 ::)

Roll on middle age :-/

Bruce.

Hi the car is due for Insurance renewal shortly and just had a reminder from AA with whom I am currently insured with they have quoted £169.00 as opposed to £159.00 last year, this is fully comp but without roadside recovery, of course I will take this offer up I may take up the Breakdown Recovery, just thinking about it at the moment.

That's with Swiftcover, an on-line company that purely deal on-line for everything.   You down-load your own certificate etc.   I know some people are wary of on-line dealing, but I had occasion to make a claim with Swiftcover for my luggage and expenses when traveling back from Malta last year.   They were very thorough, but paid out what I'd claimed for.   I spent last evening looking for a better on-line quote and couldn't get one, although the AA came close because their insurance includes rescue, I think there was pennies involved, but I chose to stay with Swiftcover because they have my proof of no-claims already.

Just to add, to the quote of £169.00,I said this did not include Roadside Assistance but I should have said it includes (Basic roadside recovery) I do less than 2000 miles per year and have excluded spouse (Won,t drive anymore)? My age 68 with full no claim bonus and have held a clean driving license for about 50 years I can only assume that the Post Code Lottery is in my favour OX28   Witney, West Oxfordshire. What is your post code (RODDERS).
