Title: Radio Code
Post by Highlander on Aug 10th, 2010, 3:35pm
To obtain your radio code you will need the serial number of the radio, usually shown on the label on the right side of the radio.

eg. M123456

The radio will need to be at least partially removed to see this using the correct removal keys.

A request on the forum showing your serial number will usually produce the code fairly quickly.

Or the software can be downloaded from HERE (https://1drv.ms/f/s!AraPm-pF-DbrmBUCev2_BCqDJ6-Q) as well as the missing .dll file

When running the software the following appears :

http://i54.tinypic.com/2eduzyv.jpg

Enter your serial number then click on the large No. 5 Preset button on the bottom to generate the code.

To exit the software click on the large on/off button on the left

To enter the code on the radio use the large preset buttons on the bottom of the radio (1-6) RDS 4000, 5000, 6000 etc.

eg. Code = 2487

press button 1 to cycle through the numbers until 2 is displayed.
press button 2 to cycle through the numbers until 4 is displayed.
press button 3 to cycle through the numbers until 8 is displayed.
press button 4 to cycle through the numbers until 7 is displayed.

press button 5 to enter the code.

If 3 incorrect attempts are made there will be a 30 minute delay before you can try again, the key has to be in the ignition position 1 during this time, removing it will reset the timer.

After 10 wrong attempts the display will show LOCK 10

Holding button 6 while turning the radio on will give you a further 3 attempts.

If these three are entered incorrectly the display will then show LOCK 13 and you will now need to get it reprogrammed

There is another way of getting to the code on the radio if you dont happen to have a set of radio keys,

if you undo the 4 screws that hold the wooden dash fascia in (2 above the radio and 2 above the steering wheel) the wooden fascia can be pulled out enough with the radio still clipped into it to read the code off the side
