Title: Re: Turbo Diesel Injector Post by SteveO on Nov 1st, 2011, 3:30pm Does this mean that #1 injectors can be cleaned up and refitted? Mine is not working, fault code P1225, but if I could save £90 buying one from Sipke's Scorpios I'd be happy.... |

Title: Re: Turbo Diesel Injector Post by SteveO on Nov 2nd, 2011, 3:46pm The spare I have was working well but when I took it off my old Scorpio I damaged the wire and ended up cutting it. Unfortunately both wires in the black sleeve are the same colour so I don't know which way round to reconnect them, or if it makes any difference. I'm worried that if I get it wrong it could damage the electrics. That's why I'm interested in cleaning up the faulty one that on my current car. Steve |

Title: Re: Turbo Diesel Injector Post by Matt on Nov 3rd, 2011, 10:43am And Number one http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd429/Matt24v/IMAG0394.jpg as you can see the dome has a needle on the back of it, this is what the little sensor is picking up Again full of dirt |

Title: Re: Turbo Diesel Injector Post by Matt on Nov 10th, 2011, 11:22am Quick update, been doing some digging and it would appear that the injectors ive shown have been played with in the past (they came out of a jeep!) the round 'crimped' bit is in the wrong location on both pics, it should be at the end between the inside of the bottom casing and before the needle valve body |

Title: Re: Turbo Diesel Injector Post by SteveO on Nov 11th, 2011, 10:49am Cheers Matt, I've been away for a bit but hope to dismantle my old injector this weekend. I'll post a photo when it's done for comparison. Steve |

Title: Re: Turbo Diesel Injector Post by SteveO on Nov 16th, 2011, 3:50pm I'll try to get a clearer photo later. #1 is the crimped washer - it looks like it only fits one way round but fell out as I stripped the casing..... there's a raised ridge one one side and a groove on the opposite. Maybe thats the way it gets squashed and it doesn't really matter. #2 is the plunger for the sprint - mine has a flat on the end of the shaft but there's no flat in the body of the injector, just a round hole. Again, maybe it's not important. http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss211/stevework69/Dsc00322.jpg I'm hoping to unscrew the top off the injector fitted to my car, extract the bits, clean them up and re-fit without having to remove the plug from the block. Just the fuel pipes to disconnect and fingers crossed. If it is full of gunk that may be the cause of the problem with fault code P1225. |
