If anyone sees me they will know it because I drive it with a bag over my head. Not because it's a Scorpio, just because I'm ashamed of the condition!

Sorry to let the side down.

Lee, were you driving along the High Street towards the Eatons at about 6.45 this evening?? Or, were you parked in the Riverside yesterday??

As the St Neots area club it's about time we exchanged a wave!!

I would have thought that when I joined I would have the option of putting my vehicle details on my profile page.
I am probably gonna get shot for it as you will say 'its been done!' but I can't find it!! :-[
Anyway, black p reg cotsworth, Huntingdon, s'me! ;D

go here http://www.rac.co.uk/web/carbuying/vehicle_status_checks and stick the reg in (in my case R909 AKW (very simlar to the car shown on the main site http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/facelift.htm)), dont worry, it's free untill u have the option of buying a full hpi on the car, no personal details pop up, just what make and model, year and engine size

the story about the "y"plate.i bought the car in the leices area in aug 2,001, it had an irish plate on it xbz2165. my wife was very dubious about this plate wanted it changed so i sold it back to the garage at the going rate £80. the details were sent to the dvlc and they gave me a brand new plate i.e a y plate.i phoned swansea up and told the lady that the,ve given me a brand new no. plate on a three year old car ,is it allowed? her reply that was the no. was allocated to me and that was what i had to put on my car. she got rather up tight and said like it or lump it that was it!! the new log book arrived and it states, a y plate on a car manfctd 98so who am i to argue, it does cause a topic of conversation though. iwould luv to send a picture but i dont know how to do it as i,m just learning how to use a computer perhaps sum one can tell me how!!!!

I'm from Taunton in Somerset and have a blue 24v Cosworth, it's got a couple of grill type 'things' on the bonnet, so give me a blink if you see me :)

I did meet another member from here in the ASDA car park last week, or the week before. I seem to remember he said he had 'blue' in his username  ...well, I have been asleep since hehe, anyway, I searched through all the list of members, but can't remember which it was now ???

Hello there, I'm new to the forum.
This is my 1998 R Blue Scorpio 2.9 24v. I'm in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire.

I've not seen too many up this way.
I think there is me and possibly three others. I've seen a 2.3 in light purple, a 2.3 in Silver and a Black 24v being used as a taxi.

Give me a wave if see me. Jon.

Hi to you all out there. I am a bit late with this into the Welcome Section, having already posted and been welcomed as a site newbie.
I am based in UpHolland, West Lancashire, the car is a 1997 2.3 Scorpio Ultima Auto Estate in that rather unusual Light Metallic Blue with Black Leather Trim. If you see me in the car and then recognise me later in a Metallic Turquoise Volvo V70 T5 CD Auto with towing gear on the back then that is my regular Little Boy's Big Toy. Well at 4'10&1/2" I don't use Tonka Toys any more.
I was in Wigan on 2nd Jan in the Asda Car Park and spotted a Maroon coloured saloon about to leave, but I never got a reg' plate. Scorpios of Saloon or Estate variants, these are a bit like Rocking Horse Muck, me thinks.

Post by antonyl3 on Jul 27th, 2016, 9:47pm
Hi to everyone.  I've just found this section so thought I'd say hello. I used to own and run a maroon '98 (R) 2.3 Ghia Saloon but due to ill health I laid her up for almost three years. Unfortunately, the dreaded tin worm took hold and she seized up during this time. I didn't realise until I joined the forum that she was a facelift model as to my shame I had her stripped for parts and sold for scrap earlier this year after I bought my 1997 (P) Blue 2.3 Ghia X estate in April. The auto estate better suits my needs and I try to take her out at least once every 3-4 weeks as I want her to last as long as me, if not longer.  I live in Cardiff and would be very interested to know if there are many left in my neck of the woods.  Mine must be reasonably rare in this area as I have had quite a few people staring at her wondering what she is as I drive by.  I even had one chap stopping me at a petrol station in order to tell me how he regretted selling his over 10 years ago. I last saw another Scorpio on the road about three years ago. I don't have any photos of mine yet but I'll post some in the near future.
Bye for now, Tony. :-/
