Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Geoff_W on Mar 22nd, 2005, 11:04am Michael you will be interested to know that the Co-op Funeral Service in Pontefract has both Scorpio stretched limos and a hearse still in use, with the enhanced head room for those of us with bigger heads or hats ;D |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Captain / Vice Admiral on Mar 22nd, 2005, 1:28pm Hi Geoff - Please give me their contact details Captain / VA |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Geoff_W on Mar 22nd, 2005, 10:23pm Michael, Try googling Co-op Funeral service, Pontefract. Also if you ask Baz nicely, he may well have some piccies from Coleman Milne. This is starting to get a bit dark, I think you need to go light on the Van Helsing DVD ;) |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Baz on Mar 22nd, 2005, 11:16pm I do indeed have some photos somewhere. I lost a lot in my 160gig hard drive disaster earlier this year but I did have back up DVDs of the whole drive but not had time to look through yet Baz |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Dave on Mar 23rd, 2005, 7:16pm Micheal, I hope you're not planning your final drive. It sounds a little like you are! It can't be anywhere near that time for you. I suppose the early bird catches the worm though. Or, the person still in good health secures a scorpio funeral. I'm sure that phrase will catch on. D |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Baz on Mar 23rd, 2005, 9:05pm There is a company in Warrington with Scorpios as well. One of them is an ever rarer facelift limo!! |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Captain / Vice Admiral on Mar 23rd, 2005, 10:21pm seems a lot of SCORPIO hearses and Limos up north Good omen - for Northern Scorpio funeral requisites Captain / VA |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Baz on Mar 24th, 2005, 12:28am For what possible reason would you want contact details for a load of Scorpio hearses Michael? Maybe a convoy from up north to Weston Do you really want to contact them to get them to come to Weston? If you do, you'll be DEAD lucky if any turn up!! and I must admit to being a little too busy running my business to be chasing hearses around Warrington asking for their phone numbers! |

The reason I wanted a couple of limos and a hearse is because they are Ford Scorpio,s and it would be interesting to see them - after all they are owned by Ford Scorpio owners and as such they are at liberty to attend and would be made most welcome. I am in touch with the General Manager of the CO-op ( They probably own more than 80% of all Funeral Directors in UK - they just keep up the family names for tradition ) No pun intended - he is being very cooperative with my request to have part of his livery attend Weston 2005 He might even donate some discount vouchers ( for future use ) as a raffle prize Captain / VA |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Geoff_W on Mar 24th, 2005, 1:04pm Michael, Obviously you disagree with Admins view that we should only use the meetings section for meetings promotion hence your April 1st post and now this one in seen by you. Where exactly are you going with this? |
||
Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Richard on Mar 24th, 2005, 1:22pm In Michael's defence i think he is trying to make the WSM meet a success, All Scorpios for Scorpio enthusiasts, I do however admit this should be kept to the meetings section and the subject of WSM is a bit of an overkill, But as i say i think he is trying all the options. Instead of pulling the bloke down why don't you take this meet on, I know i wouldn't like to take it on. |
||
Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Geoff_W on Mar 24th, 2005, 1:38pm Richard I don't doubt Michaels commitment to the Weston event and like you I would not wish to take it on, I also hope that it will be a happy and fun experience for all that go along. However I can't seem to log on these days without finding another quirky Weston plug and it gets kind of wearing. I guess the Meetings section is there so that we can get on with other stuff in other parts of the forum. Maybe its just me, in which case you wont hear any more about it. Geoff_W |
||
Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Vulcan on Mar 24th, 2005, 1:44pm Michael didn't actually log into this thread to plug Weston just to query availability of Scorp hearses and stretched Scorps. He only offered his reasons for wanting to know when questioned by Baz therefore he can't be berated for putting another plug for Weston in a "non-meetings" forum, just because the reason he wanted to know related to the meet. ;D |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Geoff_W on Mar 24th, 2005, 1:46pm Point taken George |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by nick on Mar 24th, 2005, 5:50pm But it does highlight the point you cant have any thread without it involving WSM, sorry if I sound petty, but its getting ridiculous. Michael,this is not a pop at you, just everything on the forum seems to have a WSM theme. Nic |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by nick on Mar 24th, 2005, 5:51pm In response to the original point of the thread there are lots of funeral services in the North East use Scorpios. When I bought my 1st scorpio it was to replace my company car, my dad always loved my choice in cars and always loved my cars, mainly Granada MK1, Mk2 and MK3, but he had never been in a Scorpio. When I bought it my dad could only look at it through his bedroom window as he was bedridden with terminal cancer, but he always would say he would make it outside and I could take him for a drive. Alas he never made it but when the funeral director came to do the arangements the Herse and Limos he used were Scorpios. So my dad got his wish, his last drive was indeed in a Scorpio, with his family behind in another one. I often wonder how he liked the ride. Nic |

Title: Re: scorpio funeral cars Post by Zombie on Apr 22nd, 2006, 11:37pm I found out this morning that my scorpio estate used to be owned by a funeral firm in Northampton till around 2001. I guess that explains the low mileage and all the plant debris in the gap when you fold the back seats down. I'm having a hell of a tie getting the gold pin striping off the sides of the car. 1 hour to do a front wing! |
