Title: None seen in East Anglia
Post by Jonnycab on Aug 9th, 2008, 12:26am
Drove from Essex to the tip of North Norfolk last Sunday for a camping holiday.....

......saw none on the A12/A14/A140  ???

No Scorps on the campsite, & driving around North Norfolk for 5 days, I still didn't see one single Scorpio  ???

Even on the way back from Norfolk to Essex today.....still not a solitary Scorpio in sight  ???

Rare as rocking horse poop in East Anglia.....it would seem  :)

saw a couple in and around caister nr gt-yarmouth during our stay up there, there was a ultima saloon on the camp site, and our daughters ultima estate.and another mk3 on an e plate same as mine.and that was it.i had to repair the auto box oil cooler pipes on the daughters car...2 pin holes  in the pipes and she lost near all the automatic trans fluid, went away for a weeks holiday to get away from all that. ::).

Norwich !!!!!....that must be the worst ring road in the country  :o

It reminded me of the North Circular before the M25 was built  ::)

Thought the same when i visited a friend in Fakenham a few months back..... Rye-Fakenham-Rye over a weekend and didnt see one other scorp all the way - and that included the monday morning drive home at rush hour on the '14 and '25

Think they're just starting to reach that "dying breed" status, much like my sierras - just there were fewer to start with

Jon, they seemed to peak around 2004/2005, since then they're gradually becoming rarer. It's been good but the window has closed now, they're getting too old for people to see them as reliable drivers, we're seeing now the low point the last Capris/Cortinas hit about 15 years ago.

Still a couple around here I see regularly (like one which is the mirror image of mine) but also a couple of really worn ones, hate seeing a really tatty Scorp, makes them look so old :'(
