Title: M6 Jct 37 Southbound Killington Services
Post by Highlander on Oct 9th, 2010, 1:44pm
Came up behind a nice looking green M reg saloon yesterday that eventually turned off into the services.

Couldnt understand why it had its lights on as it was midday and quite sunny, until i passed it.

It appears the owner has joined the evergrowing band of people who drive (illegally) with their foglights/driving lights  on.

If we were allowed to carry guns I would shoot them!  ;D

Might have been a Scandinavian, you see crowds of em coming off the ferries all with blazing lights, dunno what it's all about, whatever turns you on I suppose.Personally I find all these lights very distracting rather than as we are told 'an aid to others to see you',are they bloody blind or what  >:(.There was a piece on the front of our local rag recently, with a photograph of a young woman who had been pulled by plod because she had her foglights on,the press seemed to be as mystified as she was, saying that they couldn't see the problem !!
It is illegal to use driving lamps the centre of which is higher than 21" (old parlance) from the ground, other than in fog or falling snow.
'Motorists' who go onto the highways with little or no knowledge of basic law,or indeed without the ability to at least change a wheel and check their oil and water should , if not be shot, sent for further education in matters of road use  ::)

If it was a Scandanavian they still had their foglights on. ;D

Legally driving lights should be wired to the main beam and go off with them, I make sure I flash EVERYONE I meet who has them on.

And don't get me started on the blue ones

Saw one a few weeks back coming home from Hampshire with some gear, hogging the fast lane with two little blue lights under the front spoiler, but not proper blue like the police, I'm sure the traffic cops would do their crust if they saw it

any one like me have any probs with the new DRL,s?a lot of them are below the bumpers are are rather bright
audis ,mercs and the citroen ones especially look absolutey crap.
if i,m correct ,all new cars next year will be fitted with these by law and the legislation has been changed to allow them to be used below bumper height.
there,s nowt like bright LED,s to waken you up on a dreek morning!

That's probably what I saw then. In which case there's going to be more of it.

I have enough aggro with the new-fangled LED tail lights and indicators, still don't "look right" to me speshly in the dark. Bulbs seem to have a softer light that's easier on the eye, the LED's do my head in
