I should be there for an hour or so. I take Connor swimming in the afternoon. Will be good to see you again Dave. There are a few who go from GSO and other sites. We had about a dozen cars there last month

Anything you need if you do go? I already have in the car: a rear light bar from a prefacelift, a spare 16" 12 spoke and tyre as well as a couple of speakers!! Car looks like a tranny van

Baz,Snoopy. Hope you had a good meet. Ours in Kent was great despite the freezing wind. Good company, good laughs and some problems solved. Just what I guess it is all about.

Missed this, sorry Baz  :-[

What have we been doing (in no particular order or finished):
1.  replacing bulbs behind dash
2.  installing a handsfree kit (trauma)
3.  having new windscreen fitted (another trauma still to be resolved with the aftermath)
4.  playing about with gps aerial and vnr
5.  fit new coil pack and revamp brackets and bolts
6.  fit new o2 sensors and have headache with codes
7.  re-wire up properly DVD monitors
8.  re-new water temp sensors
9.  contemplate adding wiring for illuminated vanity mirror
10. copy idea from off the website about doing the engine cover with silver leaf
11. renew oilcooler seals (awaiting parts)
12. add parking pilot

just some of whats going on at the moment don't want to even mention the painting. Problem is there's hardly anytime to do anything.  :'(

Any news on the next Cheshire meet ???

It is on for this Sunday, but I'm skipping it I'm afraid. Mothers day and all.

Got a few jobs on myself:

1.  Try and limit the damage of having a big customer go bust owing me thousands of pounds

2.  Fit two new CATS. Had them 3 weeks and still not done

3.  Get LPG installed. (Now being fitted by Wains Classic Rebuilds in Norwich.) Bit far away but it means me and little Connor get to fly from Manchester to Norwich for less than it costs me to drive the car there in the first place!!)

4.  Wash the car. Not been done since January.

5.  Fit the headlight covers I just won on EBay for £42.50!!

6.  Try and fit in going to work in between all this too!

Don't rub it in about the headlight covers, I had a bid in on them too, but missed the end, for obvious reasons.

£42 though, :-/

Locky, I've got a shed load in my paypal account and before i transfer it out to pay for my holiday, I spent a bit!! I have been after a set of these for ages!

I also bought a pair of pre facelift headlights for £30.00 including postage! but I also have two broken facelift lenses so I can feel a swap taking place then I can flog my other set of spare facelift headlights and that will go towards the holiday spends!! I had a good selling month on EBay, some american guy bought my set of beatles EP's for £100.00!! I only paid a tenner for them when they were new!! I also got a pair of rear arches for the scorp, for the future!

Next up is my spare Ipod and a few other bits. Trouble is I spend more than I sell!

FURTHER GOVERNMENT COMMITMENT TO LPG

The Government demonstrated its long term commitment to LPG in the Chancellor’s 2006 budget.

In an endorsement of the environmental advantages, especially air quality in urban areas, the chancellor announced a continuation of the existing differential arrangement in the fuel duty between LPG and petrol / diesel through to 2009. This means that the price of LPG at the pumps will continue at around half the price of petrol and diesel for the foreseeable future.

Tom Fidell, Director General of the LP Gas Association said ”This is a clear message of support for LPG for the long term which gives motorists and fleet managers the confidence to purchase LPG vehicles and contribute to a cleaner motoring environment”.

The following specific measures are in place:

Continuation of the three years advance notice on the fuel duty differential with petrol and diesel within the Alternative Fuels Framework first introduced in 2003.

Continuation of a maximum reduction of only 1p per litre per year in the duty differential between LPG and petrol / diesel is continued to 2009.

The current fuel duty on LPG is 4.5p per litre compared with 47.1p per litre on petrol and diesel

Fuel duty increases for 2006/7 are deferred until 1st September 2006. At that time it is proposed that the fuel duty on petrol and diesel will increase to 48.35p per litre and on LPG to only 6.75p per litre.

:( I really wish we (Lorna and I) could be with you for the Cheshire meet tomorrow, but we'll have to sit this one out. Until our wages go in t'bank, we've 'owt t'play with ;D

Been an expensive month! Hope you all have a good time, though, and perhaps we'll make the next one.

Currently saving our pennies to go to Nottingham and thn Newcastle to see Gary Numan in concert

On the subject of LPG, are there any grants available to motorists as an incentive to get them to convert their cars? I'm aware that it can cost quite a lot of money to have the conversion done, and I don't fancy doing one myself.

There used to be grants available at one time, but not any more as far as I'm aware.

I got my kit off a scrapper and am having it fitted by a company in Norfolk (I live in Cheshire!!) Means I can fly home and back again with my 4 year old so be a bit of an adventure!

The company (Wains Classic Autos) run by a guy called Mark and he has done some really professional installs of LPG

Also means mine will come fully set up and certified for about 1/4 the cost of getting a complete system from an installer.

Hi Baz
Sorry to be a pain, but is there a manufacturers mark on the covers.

Thanks
