Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by Geoff_W on Nov 29th, 2006, 12:06am Nic Well it is a Ford brand ;D allegedly one of the reasons that the Scorp got dumped was that Jaguar were coming to the market with the S type and that would take care of the Ford executive / large car market, the other apparently was that the new Mondeo was going to be Scorpio size so Jags seem to be OK as a next motor. Nice looking one you have there ;) |

Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by twinturbo on Feb 10th, 2007, 1:18pm Well if noone else replies soon it's probably going to be a dead stick, can't see any problem with a late reply from yourself though. Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by twinturbo on Feb 10th, 2007, 2:56pm Ok Gr8... I have never made it to COTS. We had 5 cars last time which is good enough for a decent chat... I was thinking of parking up in the Theater Car park, doing COTS, wander round, foof in the OddFellows... etc.. May have the boy in toe, and maybee the Missus.... TT |
Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by big_neil on Feb 10th, 2007, 3:04pm don,t worry about that ,when we go out it,s like the carleton clinic day out(no offence meant) |
Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by big_neil on Feb 10th, 2007, 3:06pm isn,t the theatre by the lake? rather a huge gallop to the stars museum eh!! |

Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by big_neil on Feb 10th, 2007, 3:08pm is that why they call it the oddfellows cos there,s foofs innit?? |

Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by twinturbo on Feb 10th, 2007, 3:09pm ;D My mum spent 12 years up there and in the main site as a patient! But no offence taken.. TT |
Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by big_neil on Feb 10th, 2007, 3:11pm so did my mum!!,i think the car park next to the museum should be quiet this time of year. |
Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by twinturbo on Feb 10th, 2007, 3:12pm Under the underpass, up to the main street, across the courtyard.... But for us young un's tha's easy... Not shure about you old timers tough ;D ;D ;D Chances of getting 5-6 Scorpios nicely parked in the back carpark is slim at the best of times.. Main carpark is hit/miss... Boooths carpark usualy ok but just as far... Theatre carpark should be quiet enough and a walk to the lake is easy toooooo.... TT |
Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by twinturbo on Feb 10th, 2007, 3:14pm It's never quiet, full of posh pople in Audi A6's looking lost... Well at least we have something else in common appart from scorpio's and where we live.. Both have/had Institutionalised parents!! TT |
Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by big_neil on Feb 10th, 2007, 3:15pm underpass?? which one?? |
Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by twinturbo on Feb 10th, 2007, 3:21pm If you turn left after the fiat garage as you walk down out of town towords George Fisher, at the bottom of that hill is an underpass that comes out sort of opposite the Pitch and Put.. TT |
Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by twinturbo on Feb 11th, 2007, 2:40pm John (AJ SPEICH ( from the LIST )) Will be comming down from Dumfries.. Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by Bootle on Feb 11th, 2007, 7:51pm Now I've finally replaced the clutch I might be around. But can you give a definite date, time and location to a confused old timer. |

Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by twinturbo on Feb 11th, 2007, 9:14pm I think the best plan is to meet up at the Little Cheff on the A66 just of J40 of the M6. Then we can all convy down to Keswick and park up at the carpark next to the Theater by the lake. From there a wander into town, possibly get lunch first at the Oddfellows Arms, then onto the Museum "Cars of the Stars" No regimented stuff though so do what you want realy! Meet back at the cars later on for a chat etc.. I will haev my Laptop and OBD2 for anyone that needs a scan. I will contact the museum to confirm they are open. Rob P.s. I envisage the next met either being Beamish or the Glasgow Motor Museum. In may/june. |
Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by twinturbo on Feb 17th, 2007, 5:29pm Ok I have confirmed the museum is open :) So for Feb 25th... I suggest we meet at the Little Cheff on the A66 ( j40 M6 ) POSTCODE CA11 0DT between 10:15 & 10:45 ( i should be there on time ) And then Drive on to Keswick and park at the Theater car park POSTCODE CA12 5DJ ( Or meet the convoy there directly ) Have a chat, unload, wait for straglers. And then walk up to the Pub for Grub @ opening time. After food, head to the Museum ( or to the shops for others ). Meet back at the carpark for 3ish. Perhaps a wander to the lake.. More talk, I can do a scan for folk. and then depart whenever folk wish. If everyone comes so far that says they will then we should have 6+ cars maybee more possibly less... If no one turns up then it's just me and my 2.5yr old ;) Cheers Anyone have trouble, my number is 07866692183 ( best TXT if I am driving... ) Rob |

Title: Re: Borders (KESWICK) Meet.... Post by twinturbo on Feb 25th, 2007, 7:48pm Yep it was a good day, We all met up at the Happy Robber.. 6 cars in total. My Green Estate Scorpio Man ( Andy ) Silver Inastate ( sorry...... ;) ) Barry's Redish Saloon ( sorry did not get a photo ) fresh from the workshop. Big_Neils Y-plate Saloon. John Speich's Blue S-Plate Saloon Richard Griffins Blue R-Plate Saloon We all made a nice convoy down to keswick, must have made a few people look in amazement. And we managed to get parked easily. Had a nice lunch ( even my little boy was very good at lunch! ) Did the mueseum, I did not get to concentrate as Toby was gettign annoyed.. Soom cool stuff there and my 4 faves were there ( Mad Max, A-team, General Lee, K.I.T.T ) :D Then back to the pub for a bit more chat, then down to the car park for discussion and some scanning with our OBD-2 stuff.. I did not bother with my car, but andy tried to get to the ABS with no luck, but he did find 2 system lean codes and a more interesting over-rev??? John's car had a very strange one about audiable tones???? Altogether a very good day.. http://www.rob1tt.f2s.com/Images/scorpio/kw/kes1.jpg http://www.rob1tt.f2s.com/Images/scorpio/kw/kes2.jpg http://www.rob1tt.f2s.com/Images/scorpio/kw/kes3.jpg http://www.rob1tt.f2s.com/Images/scorpio/kw/kes4.jpg http://www.rob1tt.f2s.com/Images/scorpio/kw/kes5.jpg TT |
