Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by Geoff_W on Feb 5th, 2007, 4:59pm Bliss Harewood House is sticky. Well moderated you moderators! Depends on budget Mike, have a look at Tulip Hotel at Glasshoughton on the internet, about 35 minute drive up the A1 from there. Or Comfort Inn at Selby Fork, 20 minues away or you could always try the Harewood Arms? At the entrance to the park. Actually we could do with a list, I will look into it when I get back fom Texas. Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by Baz on Mar 5th, 2007, 2:14am OH NO.... Disaster.... I have just realised that for the first time in 5 years, I will miss Harewood because we are away in France for witt week I cannot believe I never spotted this before! Gutted! :( >:( |

Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by scorpio_man on Mar 5th, 2007, 11:22am hi baz you're breaking up the gang. {} just tell karen that you need to cancel france!! ;D she can get good wine at harewood! ;) |

Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by Baz on Mar 5th, 2007, 9:11pm I know... I am absolutely sick as a pig. I only noticed last night because I decided to book the Holiday Inn for the Saturday night so we didn't have to get Connor up too early and travel the 60 odd miles to Harewood. Only as I was clicking the date did it dawn on me that we had already booked the Holiday Inn near the Champs-Elysées!! We are going with my business partner and his family so can't drop out. I will be doing the Billing one though and a few more including the Scorpio Island jaunt down on Hayling Island... so the car can get a run out! And after I have just had the repairs to the rear door done just for Harewood as well! |

Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by Scorpius on Mar 7th, 2007, 9:52pm Thanks. But according to the Haighfield Caravan Park website, there are no touring pitches. Not sure if this covers caravans or tents or both, so will have to check with them. Ian |
Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by Baz on Mar 8th, 2007, 9:07am There is a Holiday Inn about 2 and a half miles away. Easier than dragging a caravan and I guess when you take into account pitch costs and additional fuel needed; less hassle and as cheap too. And someone else cooks your breakfast!!! ;D |
Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by mazzy_j on Mar 14th, 2007, 9:57am Yep i should be there ;D Seeing as i'll be coming up from down south in Surrey i'll probably stay in York the Sat night and spend the day (Sat) there as i'v been meaning to go there for a while. If anyones coming from that direct and wants to go in convoy let me know :) Also, i know Harewood is a little way off yet, but i work for Ford and if anyone wishes for my to buy them some cheap bits on discount message me and i'll see how much they be. Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by MARTIND on Mar 24th, 2007, 10:34pm Is this a more the merrier kind of event/show ? or more for the concourse cars mine looks ok from 20 yds .............but a bit ropey in places up close Live in York myself so not too far to go - mazzy wot u planning to do in York ? |
Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by Baz on Mar 25th, 2007, 12:36am It is a more the merrier kind of show which I can't come to this year :'( There are cars of all shapes and sizes and most aren't any where near concours. There are a lot of owners clubs like minis, capris etc. and everyone just goes for a great day out. If you have kids, take them along because they have a fairground and all the stuff that kids like such as police cars, army stuff etc. Baz |
Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by sector-9 on Mar 25th, 2007, 12:45am [] Mine has a few rust patches, dents and generally scratched/faded/mismatched paintwork and they didn't kick me out last year. Just make sure to wash and vacuum it so it looks like it's had some care during it's lifetime! BTW, there was a word template floating around for people to put their details on and display in the window or on the dash - just general info about your car in particular. Darren |
Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by Scorpius on Mar 29th, 2007, 9:26pm Darren (SECTOR-9) As you are local to me, do you fancy going up in convoy, so to speak? Ian |
Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by sector-9 on Mar 31st, 2007, 6:40pm Would love to but the logistics might be tricky - I'll be taking a single mum and her son (as I did last year) but they live in Coventry so I'll probably be setting off from there around 6:30am. Of course, if I'm still living in Clifton at the time then I'll suggest they sleep over here as it's a bit closer, but that seems unlikely at the moment with the house being up for sale, etc. Darren P.S. Tracked down the damaged silver TD estate you saw - it was parked behind Wilkos in Clifton so is probably owned by somebody working at one of the shops. Next time I see it I'll put a note on for this site. |
Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by Scorpius on Mar 31st, 2007, 8:50pm OK, well lets see how it goes. Interesting on the Silver estate. There is also a Dark blue (or maybe Aubergine) 2.3 estate in Maypole, Clifton. The guy bought my wood effect dash. Ian |

Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by Snoopy on Apr 4th, 2007, 7:52am It does appear to be early this year, I think it always fell on Fathers day in the past years but THIS year seems to be two weeks earlier than normal,! Day trip back from France looking good then Baz! ;D |

Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by Baz on Apr 7th, 2007, 11:57pm Ha Ha! You would have to fight my missus for the wine Nic and I don't fancy your chances mate!! She may only be five foot three but she does like the wine and I have never managed to get one off her when she has a good grip on bottle! |

Title: Re: harewood house, leeds Post by scorpio_man on Apr 19th, 2007, 6:15pm meeting update..... Hi Andy, Arrangements much as before, please pass the following on to the forum. e.mail Anne (anigriffin@ntlworld.com) with name and address as the message and Harewood House meeting as the subject. No money needed at present but please don't book unless you are reasonably certain to go. Cost will be less than a fiver, collected by Anne on the day. Some people say "keep the change" from a fiver so any profit we donate to the Scorpio site. |
