Gozz, You are a 'wind up' merchant. ;D.

Freddie, the Kent meet has guys and gals  from Surrey, Sussex, Kent and Essex. As JC says he came along with his family and enjoyed the banter and a pint. Cars get checked over by those with the lap tops, others get parts replaced and above all there is a great spirit of friendship and much mickey taking. Pity Gozz is not local 'cos he'd be a prime target!!. :D ;D

I might not be able to make it this Sunday as I've just found out that this Sunday (28th) is the main annual Battlesbridge classic car show....the biggest in Essex & just a couple of miles from me....what do I do ?  ::)

You guys wouldn't hate me if I didn't show up this Sunday......would you ?  ;)

Can't resist the temptation of showing off the old MK1 at such a big event.......that's if I can get it through the MOT by the end of the week  :)

JC, we'll miss you if you don't arrive but we'll forgive you!!. More importantly Tompion won't be able to fiddle with your car to sort out the idle problem BUT my ABS light is still on so he'll have another project to have a go at and Bruce has got to sort his HBC unit. Is your fuel flap fixed?. Good luck with the 'classic' and its MOT. :D

Well another great Kent meet. Tompion in action with his lap=top, Bruce trying to sort his Heater blower and Freddie learning how to clean his MAF. Several 'regulars' away on other ventures and we hope they had successful days Taliban was missed by CB1.

At the end of the meet as we were leaving the pub a young man in a Saab estate stopped the guys and said he wanted to hand over some spares from his Scorp Estate which had been written off. Although he has never been a 'member' on here he had used the site and so,rather than putting the items on E-bay, he handed them to us for sale on the site for the benefit of the site. What a great gesture and he'd made the trip to Kent in order to hand the items over. I was 'appointed' custodian so as and when a request for an item appears I will obviously try to sell it and pass the cash to Steve.  We did also 'raise a glass' to our Scottish friends wishing you as good a meet as we had. ;) :).

For Tompions info: I did power up the ABS unit and the motor ran perfectly.  Mike

Yes, a good meet - nice to see some familiar faces again and a couple of new ones too.
Think we had 6 Scorpios ( No Cossie's  :o ??? though ), a Chysler Crossfire and a Ford Cougar.
Apologies to everyone for my having to depart so quickly, simply lost track of the time - guess we were having too much fun - and I had to be somewhere.

Sorry I missed this 1 - had to be elsewhere - at least it was a success. The Cossie & I will be at the next meet.

What a nice Saab owner!

Cheers

Still managing to maintain your CB status despite only having a bike!!.  Scorpio Mikes' wife actually checked out the car park in case you'd hidden your guano covered car elsewhere!!. ::). You missed out because you could have discussed bio fuels with one of our new arrivals. ;D. Hope to see you next time. :)

Thanks Simmo :) - If anyone happens to have a pair of wishbones with defunct balljoints that they'd be willing to donate to experimentation, it might happen sooner than later ;)

It was going that way over a year ago :)  high demands and poor crop yields in '97 put the price of virgin OSR up to trade suppliers by 40% overnight !

It was worse with palm oil, but that makes rubbish biodiesel anyway lol

Nice to meet you lads Sunday. Thanks to Simmo for the Maff info.. Cleaned mine out yesterday, and replaced sponge filter. Unfortunately lost spring clip from the electrical connection in the process, but will probably find it later somewhere in the engine bay.  Thanks also to Tompion for the OBD check.  Roll on next meet.  cheers F :)red.

Freddie, it's probably laying in the engine cover. Four screws release it but you have to get under the car !! which I know is not your favourite place  ;D.

Thanks Tompion :)

If its sucessful, i'll do you a set at cost  ;D lol

my initial research indicates i can obtain threaded rose joints and matching collars - so it might even be possible to create adjustable joints that can be fine tuned....
