hi there

right, it looks like we'll (me) have to make our own way there to this meet, so to speak.

there's going to be a couple of changes to how it's organised this year.

1. i'm having to do everything this year. in the past, i've always been the middle man, so this will be something new.
2. payment, which is still going to be £5 per car (up to 4 people), will have to be made up front.

there's a few reasons for this.

i can't afford to stump up the entrance fee and then wait for the money from members on the day.

also, trying to go round everyone on the day for the ticket price is a bit of a pain. usually it's we're looking for you, while you are looking for us. never the twain shall meet!

the last few years i've had to leave early, so i've hardly had any time to speak to members, collect money and have a look around the show at the other cars.

THERE WON'T BE ANY SPARE OR LATE TICKETS AVAILABLE this year. i'll only be ordering what's been paid for. hopefully this encourages everyone to come once they've paid for their ticket and they'll have a great time.

payment will be by paypal preferably, using the GIFT option. i've been told you don't pay any fees using this option (if you know different, let me know).

i'll get your address from paypal if you put in the note box and post your ticket out as soon as i receive them.

i'll leave this open until the evening of SUNDAY 22nd MAY 2010. after that and you're on your own.

looks like im not going to get there this year, been booked in for a back op on tuesday (only been waiting 5 years) so will have to wait till next year :-(

although i went in hospital 2 years ago , did all the nil by mouth stuff and was then sent home without any explantion , so you never know i might be there afterall !!

I've not been before but would be nice to meet fellow fans of the car?

Not sure if I will bring the M Reg 2.9 24V Saloon or the 2.3 Facelift Saloon, both Ultima's. What will everyone else be driving?

that's the last 3 tickets send away today (i was away for a few days in London, hence the delay).

PLEASE NOTE!!!!!

THE ENTRANCE HAS CHANGED. IT'S NOW CHURCH LANE (POSTCODE LS17 9LQ).

if you've been before, it's the old way out (i think).

just follow the AA yellow and black signs.

your ticket was send on the 10Th/11Th with the first batch.

all were send 1st class. give it until Wednesday. if you don't have it by then, i'll check with the post office. all are posted in the office because of the size of the envelope (don't fit in the postbox).

If you've got any estate shocks with the bushes 'shot' that we could use for a trial with Polybush perhaps you'd hand them over to Gozz so he and I can liase later. Have a good time at the show.

Having been off the road since last August and tucked away at a mates garage.

Last week I had another engine installed (runs bootifully) but it appears that there are some engine loom problems and it now suffers from ignition and warning lights stopping on.

It passed its MOT, needed a new lambda sensor and some wiring to get the emissions side of things within tolerance.

It will need a fair amount of spit and polish, paint and a lot of tlc. All that said I aim to be there on Sunday morning.

Stuart do you have a spare aerial?

Some @>!$£%%"! has snapped it off at the swivel joint...

I really wish I could have gone again this year and the weather looks brilliant for it as well. :-( Now I've got a whole year to wait again, Grrr!

Great day out, chance to catch up with old and new friends and an interesting mix of models and specs, the 2dr 5litre coupe was an absolute stunner Wumps. Matt your manual Cossie is looking stunning, Gozz your CM hearse looks very restful, sorry to hear about your local curry house.

Interesting trend in two tone headlights spotted by Stuart, certainly going to be at least one interesting conversation with a garage that I know. Also I was pleased to introduce the latest Scorpio loom decoration craze on my 12valve. Go green!

Also a big thank you for Andrew for doing the heavy lifting on tickets this year and to Stuart who was single handedly launching a re-processing scheme at Harewood and drove back in a somewhat lighter car.

Thanks for the aerial and wheel centre cover Stuart and to all who represented the group on the day see you in 2011?

Same goes for me snoopy. I was soooo gutted my ticket didnt turn up & by the time i realised i could attend without it, most of the day had gone :-( :-( . Well,

It certainly was nice to meet some of you at last and to see some other nice Scorpio's. Some did mention to me that since I've gone from the dark side of the force to the light and someone else we know has gone to the dark side we should swap names!

I think next year we will bring both cars but if Highlander did that he would need an army of volunteers!

I keep forgetting the suns a lot stronger when you go abroad!! ;D

Got home pretty late, stopped in Abington service station for something to eat and watched a family in the car park with a Freelander 16v with the bonnet up and steam belching everywhere! (and no breakdown cover)! ;)

I could only withstand the magnetic pull of the open bonnet for so long so ten minutes later my head was under it too! :)

Half an hour later we had the thermostat and rad out, I've never seen as much dirt inside a radiator, must have been half way up it and filled out of a river!!

anyway after much flushing it was all cleared and running fine, with the added bonus of hot air from the heater which was a first apparently :)

Now this Freelander had been fitted with a new headgasket only a couple of weeks earlier at huge cost (Landrover main dealer) due to overheating, the radiator definitely hadnt been drained for this, makes you think eh ;)

In my case the factor 60 has not helped to much. Either.

Presumably the Rover K engined Freelander then.

Stuart, you are becoming the 6th emergency service. Or at least a very good Samaritan!

i had brought a boot of tools with me, we could of done a headlight swap lol.
