he states they are for the 1995+ scorpio as well

Well the picture looks like the old teardrop alloy so could well be the genuine article!!

As a long standing tear drop user those don't have centre caps and appear to have solid centres and possibly 5 nuts/studs, look more like Merc wheels to me, trims may still fit but a bit of caution needed.
