Title: R reg 2.9 24v Cosworth Post by 24vgaz on Nov 29th, 2006, 6:05pm Hi all Deep deep depression from the man on the window ledge, ME. My beloved 24V Cosworth Scorpio has given up the ghost with a suspected head gasket! Unfortunately I have not the time to repair so with great sadness it is for sale as spares or repairs, or I will break it myself and sell the bits .Again I want to give the first opportunity to the board members. The car is/was a 1998 R reg 139,000 miles and until its death was a perfect runner and did not miss a beat. The auto box is superb as is the black leather interior. All the panels are perfect and the back light (face lift model). Only problem I know of is the air con compressor. I am on the Wirral if anybody wants to view. Any further questions please contact me. Cheers :'( :'( |

Title: Re: R reg 2.9 24v Cosworth Post by 24vgaz on Nov 29th, 2006, 10:43pm Hi Stafford yes it is a saloon. Twin Turbo yes to all, the brakes were only changed a month ago front and rear. If you want to come up and collect that would be better all round, save on postage. |

Title: Re: R reg 2.9 24v Cosworth Post by mike on Nov 30th, 2006, 6:37pm Sorry, I should have been more explicit! I mean the engine computer. It's behind the glove box and you need to drill out 6 rivets to get it (takes 5mn, did it this morning on mine). Mike |

Title: Re: R reg 2.9 24v Cosworth Post by twinturbo on Dec 1st, 2006, 12:45pm Erm the grill is the grill ;) Camshafts (4) are in the top of the engine long things runing front to back with lobes on them, they have a sproket on the front with a washer. Arround page 9 in this document. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/engines/24v/24VDismantle.pdf Fusebox is on the drivers side, bolted from inside the drivers footwell. Instrument cluster plugs (2) plug into the back of the cluster... and these pictures show the plenum. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/fuelreg.htm It's the bit with the half plastic/half allloy sectiosn in the center of the engine. TT |
